All Hallows' Eve at Old Fort Erie
Niagara Parks hosts All Hallows' Eve at Old Fort Erie on October 16, 23 and 30. Guests explore the War of 1812 battlefield by lantern light and hear ghost stories and local legends. The evening includes wassail by fire and ends with a Guy Fawkes effigy burning at 8:30 p.m. The page calls Old Fort Erie Canada's bloodiest battlefield and promises tales of Captain Kingsley's ghost. It also tells the story of two American soldiers injured in the 1814 British assault, and visitors can see Captain Kingsley's haunted bed in the Officers' Quarters. The page says the event suits all ages. Snacks and hot and cold drinks are sold at the Old Fort Erie Welcome Centre.
